Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Foundation Review

I recently saw a review on the Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Foundation on another site. If you know anything about me, I’m just as comfortable sporting a bare face as I am wearing a face full of makeup but oftentimes my laziness wins out. I cannot be shamed or guilted to wear makeup because I’m honestly not at all self-conscience about my face.
This summer I’ve been forgoing wearing foundation because I live in Alabama and between the intense heat and unbearable humidity, there wasn’t a foundation I’ve ever tried that could resist my propensity to sweat coupled with the barrage of attacks I face from mother nature. My powder foundation transferred off at the mere hint of perspiration and my liquid foundation miraculously became a waterfall in the Alabama heat. Therefore I had sworn off a lot of makeup during the summer, or rather as long as the heat persisted.
Recently cushion foundations have fascinated me as I am a fan of most things related to Korean makeup but being fairly brown, I usually don’t even attempt to satisfy my longing for foundations or BB Creams from Korean manufacturers. Since Wet n Wild is an American brand (I believe) I had more hopes that there would be a Shade that was at least close to my skin tone. I was also looking forward to experiencing a reasonably priced cushion foundation without waiting for it to ship from Korea or Amazon.
After heading to my local Walmart, I was in luck! They had the Wet n Wild cushions on display and from judging by the tones on the packaging, I chose the most reasonable shade for my skin tone. Once arriving home, I discovered that someone had opened and already used this particular item in question. Ironically, this little blunder turned to my advantage since it was clear that the item I purchased was actually for a very fair person despite the misleading package. After returning this product, I chose the darkest shade they had, and it was a perfect fit.
Pros:
The product provides the perfect light coverage that is remarkably buildable. The product is very breathable and feels more like a thin moisturizer than a foundation. It smells like coconut! It resists wearing off like my other foundations. I didn’t need any setting spray whatsoever.
Cons:
The color on the box WILL NOT MATCH YOU. The shades are far lighter than what appears on the packaging. It has a strong coconut smell. Personally, I love coconuts but it might be overpowering to others.Wet n Wild needs to work on inclusivity. I am a medium shade for people of African decent yet the product I bought was the darkest shade available. I would have loved to share this product with more of my sisters. There also needs to be more shade variation.
Overall I love this product. I’m pretty sure that it’s going to be my main foundation FOREVER. It makes me smell so good and it's so light and breathable. This foundation moisturizes my skin and protects age sun damage and from the cold. Best of all it was under $10! I would highly recommend it others.
