Having a Drink now and then isn’t a bad thing at all. It’s nice to sometimes let your hair down and just enjoy a few cocktails with your friends or a glass of wine before bed. Even if you get drunk now and then, it’s not necessarily a bad thing.
The problem comes when you start Drinking too much, too often. That’s when you start suffering from mental health issues, physical health problems, and you damage many things in life, including your most special relationships with friends and family. To avoid getting to this dark place, you need to spot the warning signs so you can help yourself before it’s too late.
Here are a few signs you need to cut down on your Alcohol consumption:
You crave it
Before I go into this point, I just want to list a few symptoms for you to look at:

If you have any of these, and then you reach for a drink of alcohol and feel better, then you need to stop drinking. These are withdrawal symptoms that show you’re badly craving a drink. This isn’t normal, and you need to cut down or cut it out of your life before you fall down the slippery slope to addiction.

You’re drink driving
No straight thinking person will ever get behind the wheel of a car when they’ve been drinking. The last thing you want is to end up in a horrible situation where you’re in court and being hit with DUI charges. Or, even worse, a close friend is setting a DUI injury attorney on you because you drove them home while intoxicated and got into an accident that badly injured them. Drink driving ruins lives, and you know that. So, if you’re driving while under the influence of alcohol, that’s a major sign you’re drinking too much, and it’s completely fried your brain.
Your weight is all over the place
Drinking too much alcohol can cause both dramatic weight gain and rapid weight loss. Weight gain comes from drinking beers or ales that are high in calories, and also binging on kebabs and stuff when you’re drunk at 3am.
Weight loss happens when you drink so much that you keep vomiting whenever you’re drunk.
So, if you notice any strange fluctuations in your weight that have seemingly come out of nowhere, it may be a sign you’re drinking too much and need to stop.
Your skin is horrible
Not to sound mean, but if your skin is terrible, then you’re definitely drinking too much. Alcohol can cause acne, along with many other skin problems. If you’ve gone from perfect skin to awful skin, then it’s a sign to slow down your drinking habits.
It’s okay to have one or two drinks every week or so, it’s okay to get drunk now and then as well. But, make sure you look for these signs as they show you’re overdoing it and should help yourself before you wreck yourself.
