Kao Taem: There isn’t a cat alive that’s afraid of rats. What a loss of one’s ‘Paap-pot’!

สีสวาด: เค้า(เขา)ใช้คำว่า ภาพลักษณ์ จ้ะ ไม่ใช่ ภาพพจน์
Si Sawat: People use the word ‘Paap-lak’, you know?! Not ‘Paap-pot’.

เก้าแต้ม: ภาพลักษณ์ กับ ภาพพจน์ ไม่เหมือนกันหลอ(หรือ)
Kao Taem: ‘Paap-lak’ and ‘Paap-pot’ do not mean the same thing?

สีสวาด: เป็นคนละคำกันเลย อย่างเมื่อเกี๊ยะ(กี๊อ่ะ)เราต้องใช้คำว่า ภาพลักษณ์ เพราะคำนี้หมายถึง ภาพที่เกิดจากความนึกคิด หรือคิดว่าควรจะเป็นอย่างนั้นอย่างนี้
Si Sawat: They have different meanings. For instance, just a moment ago we should have used the word ‘Paap-lak’ because this word means the mental picture or idea that results from thought or the thinking of how someone or something should be.

เก้าแต้ม: เหมือนอย่าง สีสวาดเป็นภาพลักษณ์ของแมวที่มีความรู้ ใช่ม้า(ไหม)
Kao Taem: It’s like Si Sawat representing the image of cats being knowledgeable, right?

วิเชียรมาศ: หรืออย่างเช่น เก้าแต้มเป็นภาพลักษณ์ของแมวจอมเกเร ไงล่ะ(อย่างไรล่ะ)
Wi-chian maat : Or for example, Kao Taem representing the image of cats being extremely mischievous. What do you think?

สีสวาด: ใช่แล้ว
Si Sawat: That’s right!

ผู้บรรยาย: ภาพลักษณ์ หมายถึง ภาพหรือลักษณะที่คนอื่นเห็นหรือคิดว่าเค้า(เขา)เป็น
Narrator: ‘Paap-lak’ means ‘(an) image of someone or characteristics that other people see or think that someone has.

‘Paap-lak’ (ภาพลักษณ์) basically means ‘(an) image’ in the sense of ‘a picture in your mind or an idea of how someone or something is’ or ‘the way that something or someone is thought of by other people’.

‘Paap-pot’ (ภาพพจน์) basically means ‘(the) imagery created through the use of figurative language’.
