Writing is a therapeutic process. It allows one to jettison one’s feelings on to this white electronic canvas for the sake of psychological clarity and insight.
But writing can also be very painful. To stitch sentences together , to create paragraphs of powerful prose… is , at the best of times , a slow labourious process. A time taking chore that requires the arduous task of Translating raw emotion into words. Sometimes feelings cannot be literally translated into a spoken language ; indeed it is a language in itself which inherently looses some of its meaning once any form of translation takes place.
That’s why a writer must build context and create an environment that points to their characters feelings instead of just translating it literally.
It is why writing is an art.
