Another NY Resolution bites the dust ...

I do it every year .. and sometimes in between - Promise myself that I shall keep a journal of some sort religiously... and needless to say, I never do .. as can be seen from this appauling attempt to keep a blog. What can I say other than DOH and Sorry! I'm not actually sure anyone reads this thing anyway - if you do .. please post a comment so I know you exist!

A lot has happened in the past couple of months. The decision has been made to buy a house ... this is a big step I know, but now that my loan is paid off (YAY!) and I have a bit more disposable cash, I thought it was about time to get my foot on the ladder. So, after many discussions with friend Darren, we have decided to go for it and have seen some places already! We saw one today that was really lovely and could well be the one .. but we have 3 viewings tomorrow so are going to wait until after those until we make a final decision.

Of course, Christmas and New Year happened .. very quietly and with not much going on, but I was fun and I had a good time - as well as having to work (more money!) - but it was all good as I had the first week in January off due to all the lieu time I accrued! On the job front, I have a job interview tomorrow .. for the same company, just a transfer in departments. It means slightly more Money, better working conditions and more experience in an area that I can transfer away from this industry, which is good! It could also help my Rotaract career, which is always a bonus! I will let you know tomorrow how things go!

On the subject of Rotaract, things are still going well (mostly). I have a few issues in the Club at the moment, but am hoping to iron those out at the meeting this week. I think that there are a few members of the club that are starting to feel like strangers, but at the same time voicing that they don't have any input in the club - my philosophy is that if you don't come along to the meetings (which is when ideas get mentioned and jobs get assigned) then you can't expect to be involved all that much .. I don't think that's a harsh thing to say .. is it?!

As president, I am invited to our annual Buns Night celebration this weekend as a guest of the club - rather than a lackey helping to do all of the cooking, cleaning and serving etc. I am really looking forward to it as it is the first 'official' thing that I have had to do as President, and I even have to give a speech - Toast to the laddies - which I am dreading, mainly as I haven't written it yet! Dad did say he would help, but I dont have long left! Old school friend, Liz is coming as my +1 (as I a still man-less) and I can't wait to see her!

Other new things ... um well there aren't any really, nothing overly interesting anyway! I have started the obligatory diet again .. this time I am trying not to follow one specifically, and just changing what I am eating a bit - more fruit and veg, more of the lower fat options (M&S Count on us are particularly good!) and a little more exercise too - Kaz and I are trying to go swimming once a week on a Wednesday at least .. and I have every intention of using my exercise bike too .. whether that will happen is another thing!

As you can tell from this rambling post, work is extremely dead today! It is normally a good thing, but I keep forgetting to bring in things to surrupticiously do .. so I ma sitting here Bored Bored bored! So I suppose I should leave this here and get on with something .. there is always something to do ... so I am told!
