Hey yall.

I have been quiet for a while now. I just had no motivation but I've had so many stories that relate to this blog in the last few months. So, I have been online dating for a few months now and I have interacted with very interesting people, and also been shocked and disgusted by a lot of people.

Now I did a blog a while back on this online dating topic as an experiment, but I decided to actually give it a go. As a single working woman its very hard to meet genuine men and it's easier to just sit at home watch TV and get to know people online. Having said that, online dating has major challenges of its own.

Online dating has brought up some sad and frustrated feelings from me, and this image reflects how I feel in the white dominated online dating world.

Okay, let me explain, most of the men that contact me are white men. A majority of these men wanted to know whether I was "good at sex", had "a big booty", how I "tasted" and on a couple of dates I went on, they would expect me to become sexual with them, before actually taking the time to know me. Now I don't think this is ALL white men or that black men don't do this either, but this is most of the white men I came into contact with.

I have to say, this has made me paranoid not just white men but men in general, who look at me like I am toy they want to play with. I have been made to feel like this exotic "fantasy" that you just want to try or taste but not actually take the time to know and respect. As black women in the Western world, I feel like we have to deal with another layer to sexism and disrespect. In this world it seems as though the value of black women is going unnoticed not only by some black men but outside our races too. It's getting hard out there for a black woman, no wonder 70% of black women are single.

Anyway, maybe I am bitter, but if this is your truth too, I want to hear it or if not please share with me your online dating experiences.
