There are some great things happening in my province and country right now. First, Newfoundland is receiving $2 billion from the federal government because of the Atlantic Accord. Second, the new cultural center named The Rooms has finally opened it's doors. The Rooms contains the Newfoundland Museum and Art Gallery, and is going to be one of the highlights of St. John's. Finally on a larger note, the Same-Sex Marriage Bill has passed, providing gays and lesbians the freedom to marry. This is another step toward total acceptance of all people from all walks of life. I hope that Canada can become a beacon for other countries, a map of how a county should operate and treat it's citizens.
