Forget Valentine’s Day (I know it is one occasion when you absolutely do not want to miss being with your special someone), you still need to go that extra mile to make your pie feel loved even without any special celebration in view! Well, your relationship anniversary can also be worth celebrating in style with these tips too.
Couples all over the world make plans days ahead of Valentine’s Day (February 14) to create fond memories. But, its also necessary to do same even when February 14th is long gone! You need to rekindle that love over and over, especially when you are in a long-distance relationship. Being all by yourself, with your partner miles away can be tough, especially when its your anniversary. But there is no reason to worry anymore, as here are some of the most romantic ways for you to celebrate every special day together, even while being away physically.
1. Do not forget the ‘I love you’ call:
Apart from the regular “I want to know how you are doing” call, don’t forget that romantic “I just called to say I love you” phone call. There is nothing as cute as picking your phone anytime of the day and calling that special person just to profess your love again.
Try this: dial the number, once its connected, just say “I just called to say I love you” and then hang up! I bet you he/she will call back to say the same thing or tell you how cute it is and how happy it made them feel.
2. Go beyond flowers and teddies:
Yeah, it lovely to send a gift once in a while aside special occasions (Birthdays, Valentine etc); you can just wake up one day and decide to surprise him/her. But remember, sending flowers or teddies is too clichéd. Send your partner a few things they really like, and add to them a really personal item, like pajamas or a T-shirt with a cute message on it.
3. Plan for an ‘e-date’:
Just because you and your sweetheart are miles apart, does not mean that you cannot have a romantic candlelight dinner any day you choose. Just plan a virtual date and make sure you both appear online on time.
Try this, pick a day and a time; lock yourself up in your room when its time; turn on a dim light; video call, voice call or chat him/her up; discuss like it’s a real date (you can even pretend you got caught up in traffic and got a little delayed); talk lovingly to each other and laugh wholeheartedly! Trust me, the feeling is usually satisfying.
4. Have a movie marathon over the phone:
Both of you have had romantic movie dates in the past. So what if you are apart? You still can enjoy a movie night with a twist! Have a movie marathon over the phone. Pick movies you both like and watch them at the same time and laugh on some funny scenes or get romantic over the mushy ones. It helps reduce the nostalgia.
5. Send a video note:
Create a video clip of yourself expressing your feelings for your sweetheart and how special they make you feel. Send them this clip, and be guaranteed that they will cherish it for life. A voice note can also go well. Just be sure to pour out your heart into the video and allow them swim in your emotions. It can really make them feel super loved!
