Five Favorite Places to Eat in Maui

Five Favorite Places to Eat in Maui

Unlike the island of Oahu, Maui does not have a huge selection of Food but the nature and scenery makes up for it! But, in case you’re on the island and would like to know where are my go-to places are for food, you’re in luck! I have the perfect list for you. So in no particular order, here are five of my favorite places to dine at in Maui!

Thai Food by Pranee // Yelp

Very few places in Hawaii satisfies my Thai food cravings. The level spice is pretty weak in a lot of places but Thai Food by Pranee does not play with the spice and I love it! There’s not too many places to eat in Hana and if you have a craving for Thai food, definitely try this little place! After all, it must have been a long drive through winding roads to get to Hana; I’m sure you’ll be hungry. We ordered the papaya salad with fried chicken and drunken noodles extra spicy!

Tin Roof Maui // Yelp

Are you a fan of Top Chef? If you are, you must know who Chef Sheldon is. Tin Room is his restaurant and serves up delicious food. They are only open from 10:00AM to 2:00PM so plan accordingly if you want to dine here. Also, the place is really small inside so expect to take your food to go. We took our food to our hotel room!

My favorite is definitely the Spicy Ahi Poke. They don’t have it every day since they use whatever fresh fish they get in the morning so it varies. I did tried their hamachi version of the spicy poke and I wasn’t a fan. Hamachi isn’t my favorite fish but if you like it, definitely go for it!

Charles also has tried their mochiko chicken and he has enjoyed it!

Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse // Yelp

Alright, not everyone’s going to want to go to Maui for barbecue but hear me out; I go here for the corn bread! Their brisket is good too but ask for the spicy barbecue sauce if you’re into spicy like me! I typically order the brisket plate which runs about $19 for brisket and two sides. You can also order other types of meat besides brisket like ribs, meatloaf, chicken, etc. Prices varies according to the meat you get. I had potato salad and cornbread as my sides at first and I wasn’t a fan of the potato salad. Charles and I went back the next day and I got two orders of cornbread. No regrets.

South Maui Fish Company // Yelp

I’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile but every time I went, they would run out of food! One morning, we decided to be one of the first customers so that I can finally try their spicy ahi poke. Their poke bowl comes with rice and pineapple slaw. Definitely would pass on the slaw but I definitely enjoyed the rice which was drizzles with some type of sauce that’s super delicious

As for the poke, it was good! Although I wished the tuna was cubed a bit smaller. I thought some pieces were too big.

Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice // Several Locations Throughout the Island

Hand’s down, Ululani’s would be my favorite shave ice in the entire island chain. Probably in the world and I’m not even exaggerating. There are several Ululani’s all over the island of Maui. One of my favorite location would be the Kihei one but they’re all equally delicious. My go-to would be with Roselani haupia ice cream at the bottom, mango syrup on top of the shave ice (tastes like a fresh mango), snow capped (condensed milk) and mochi. I get it every single day I’m in Maui. Worth it.

Hope you enjoyed my list of favorite places to eat in Maui! Have you dined at any of these palces?
