The Swiss break wasn’t meant to be as my family were visiting England those same dates, so G and I ended up having an improvised trip to Tuscany:

Exciting times ahead: J’s hen weekend next weekend which I’m over in England for then a short time before the wedding celebrations start! Had a bit of a niggle with G about flights over there and how long to stay. I’ve never really put my foot down and called the shots, always preferred to get my own way more subtlety, make him think that he’s part of the decision process. In this case I just said what I thought and what I wanted and when he asked if it was an obligation I said yes! Whether he likes it or not, my best friend is getting married and it’s important to me that he’s there, smiling and looking like he’s enjoying himself!

Work in the meantime is going to be a complete nightmare – I’m working three days this coming week then I have a couple of half weeks with a full one in the middle then I’m off again for a week and a half. I think when I get back properly I’m going to want to kill myself under the piles of paperwork and requests that have built up but we shall cross that bridge when we come to it.

Finished ‘Eleven Minutes‘, enjoyed it a lot as different from what I’ve been reading lately, no thriller or crime story but just the story of a young Brazilian woman and her life choices, her thoughts… Went on to ‘The Vanished Ones‘ by Donato Carrisi then stumbled upon ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo‘ by Stieg Larrson and absolutely couldn’t get enough of it! Bought the next two in the trilogy straight away and decided to separate the reading a bit by having a go of ‘Per una cipolla di Tropea‘ by Alessandro Defilippi; nothing special but short and sweet. Now devouring ‘The Girl Who Played With Fire’ by Stieg Larsson. I’m the one on fire!
