Damian and the fish pedicure...

On a family Trip to Funland in London (Leicester square) we came across a fish pedicure stand, my son Damian wanted to try it so I said why not!  It's a rather unusual pedicure treatment which involves plunging feet into a tank full of Garra Rufa fish which then suck and nibble away dead skin cells. At his age, I knew he didn't have much dead skin but it was more for the fun of it. He loves animals just like me, and will not forget this experience. I've never tried it myself but will on a trip to Thailand.

He couldn't stop smiling and described the ticklish sensation to me, as if they were kissing and sucking on his skin. I must admit that they did look very very keen (lol).

I'm aware of the Health issues raised (ie: spread of infections) in the media and by health organizations but personally, I'm perfectly fine with it. I carefully observed how and if the therapist checked my son's feet (for open wounds, infections etc), and if he thoroughly cleaned them before allowing in the water, which he did. The risk is very small and to my opinion not worth all the hype.
Have you ever tried? What do you think?
