Hello everyone! I'll be going to bed soon, but I just wanted to update as it's been almost a week.
I received and e-mail this morning that the long-time companion of my aunt Lynn (who has ALS and less than a year to live), a beautiful male black lab named Oscar, passed away yesterday. If you've been following here, you know that just a week ago I was at my aunt and uncle's house dog-sitting Oscar, Charlie, and their new puppy Penelope. For Oscar to die only a week after I had been there, it seemed impossible. He was perfectly healthy when I saw him.
The vet though it was cancer, or a lymph node problem, but the bottom line is that he got sick and died within one day. My thought is that he knew Penelope would be there to look after Lynn, and so he tried to take some of her disease with him, to give her more time.
Rest in Peace Oscar, an amazing companion, a beautiful mind, and one of the best dogs I've ever known.
