Let’s ‘kapit’ to Christian Bautista’s latest album and mini-concert

Our Music industry has evolved dramatically over the past decades. Unlike before, people could easily listen to their favorites songs by just searching it on their favorite streaming application. We’re now living in a digital era where people could easily control almost everything in just a snap of fingers—thanks to our technology. However, some OPM artists have failed to adjust to these changes.
Fortunately, the über talented Christian Bautista knows the needs of his fans and casual listeners; thus, making him one of the best-selling artists in the Philippine music industry—with one diamond, two multi-platinums, and four platinum records his belt.
At the press conference for his upcoming mini-concert at the Music Museum, I got the chance to meet Christian. In my short interview with him, I asked him to elaborate the drastic changes he has noticed in the music industry since he debuted as an artist.
“Pagpasok ko, medyo marami pang pera ang mga label,” he said.
Christian described how the piracy in the early-2000s was so minimal until it we entered the internet age in the late-2000s.
“Dumating ‘yung streaming at downloads. Noong una, people are wary. Pero ngayon, people are now into streaming and into downloads.,” he explained.
Christian added, “It’s big! It’s earning major labels millions and millions and millions; and singers and songwriters as well. So, I think it’s the good time for the music industry.”
The singer heartthrob then quipped he wants to receive 4x platinum certification for his latest Album, despite the digital-era. He’s also hoping to become the first Kapuso artist to break into the Top 20 of BillboardPH’s Philippine Top 20, which is currently being dominated by Kapamilya artists.

Kapit is Christian’s eight studio album, and his fifth under label giant Unversal Records. Christian invites you to join him as he will be releasing his album on September 29 for only P500. You may call Ticketworld (891-9999) for ticket reservation. Your ticket includes his latest album and the chance to hear Christian Bautista LIVE and SEE him up-close and personal through a mini-concert at Music Museum.
