How to Cool Down on a Summer Roadtrip with Jolly Llama

Thank you to Jolly Llama for sponsoring this post and helping us cool down on our summer roadtrip! All opinions are my own.

It has been an incredibly hot summer in our neck of the woods! We've had a lot more days up near 90 F than I can remember any other summer since living in the mountains.

Since we're not used to such warm temps up here in the mountains (where no one has A/C), we've been cooling off however we can. That often means heading into town to find somewhere to cool down.

We haven't been cooped up all summer though – we've been traveling a ton this summer too! We've been to San Diego several times, Buena Park, Lake Tahoe and everywhere in between. On our latest trip, we visited La Jolla, which I'll be sharing more about in another post.

On the way home, we were all so incredibly tired, hot and sweaty that we decided to stop and get a cold treat. Rather than spending a ton of cash getting frozen yogurt, I popped my head into Wal-Mart to pick up some popsicles.

I spotted Jolly Llama Sorbet Pops in the freezer section and decided to grab a couple boxes of those before we finished our drive home. The girls chose Raspberry and Strawberry. They're also available in Blackberry, Banana Coconut, Mango and Pineapple Coconut.

I thought the girls would be pretty excited to try them since all of the prizes for Girl Scout cookie sales this year were Llama themed. You can see the cute llama stuffed animals they got in the picture at the top of this post. And yes, they were excited!

When we got back to the car, we decided to indulge in the Jolly Llama Strawberry Sorbet Pops while we battled traffic. I love how simple the ingredients are and that they don't have any artificial ingredients, dyes or GMOs in them.

The first ingredient is strawberry puree and they're sweetened with cane sugar and rice syrup solids. Not high fructose corn syrup! It's so hard to find that without going to specialty stores, so I was thrilled to see big retailers getting on board with offering healthier choices.

They taste really great too! The girls both got really quiet in the back seat while enjoying their Jolly Llama Sorbet Pops.

That is until they were gone and they started asking if they could have another one! We decided to save the other box for a warm day at the park.

I'm super excited to try to find the Jolly Llama Cream Pops (gluten and dairy free!) next time I'm out shopping. They come in Dark Chocolate, Mint Chocolate Chip and Sea Salt Caramel. Those will make a super special treat!

Next time you want to cool down on a family roadtrip, or any hot summer day, grab a box of Jolly Llama Sorbet Pops or Cream Pops. Your kiddos will love them and you can feel better knowing they're getting a treat without all of the harmful additives found in so many store bought popsicles!

Do you have a favorite Jolly Lllama flavor?
