Shake it!

I’m never having another chocolate Shake for the rest of my life… oh wait, I’ll be having one in about an hour. And one more after that … and another four tomorrow … and for the rest of the month. Damn.

If you think about it, I’m going to have another 98 shakes before this whole this is over … ugh, I don’t like thinking about it that way!

The whole process itself isn’t all that bad. Four shakes a day is easy, no need to think about grocery shopping or what to make for dinner. Just add two scoops and a few ounces of water and you’re good to go! This is the lazy person’s dream … however, I’m also a person who likes a little variety, and this process definitely doesn’t account for that! I’m looking into switching up the flavors a bit – vanilla, strawberry, maybe even get a little crazy and mix them together. But still, only three flavors for an entire month? Wow … what was I thinking?

It’s working though, that’s for sure. During my first five day cleanse I lost 4.8lbs … more than I lost in the entire first ten weeks of my program. I gained a little of that back when I completely fell off the wagon in the week following the cleanse. I’ve  been back on it for three days and am already back down to that lowest weight … so from here on out anything I lose will be additional weight.

Not to say this whole thing is about the weight part of it – I know it’s to get me in a better place with my insulin resistance thing and get my body working correctly … but the whole problem the insulin resistance is causing is an inability to lose weight … so, it’s good to see some changes in that department. Not to mention it’s just exciting. Let’s face it, the scale is one of the best motivators, even if it shouldn’t be.

Anyway, long story short. I’m already tired of chocolate shakes and I’m only on Day 4 … I have a feeling it’s going to be a pretty long month.

Drink up!
