Now Jess is a wifey, too

You know, I managed to get through my own wedding day with very few tears shed. I had so much adrenaline running through my veins that day, was so high on nerves, that I think I was physically unable to cry, with the exception of just a few brief times.

But seeing Jess come down that aisle, lips firmly pouted and struggling not to lose it, I balled. She was beautiful. She looked so happy and emotional. I could barely take the stupid photos cause I kept tearing up so much.

This wedding was a little more surreal then any I attended before. I think because Jess and I became so close as a result of literally planning every step and detail of our wedding together. We have joked that one of our biggest regrets is not knowing each other longer, because we would loved to have been each others bridesmaids. Jess is one of those people you meet and just know you would have been friends with as a kid.

And now, here we were, celebrating the second of two much anticipated days. Everything for Chris and Jess went off without a hitch. The miserable weather, which loomed heavy in the sky even as Ed and I drove to Braddocks, seemed to get worse as we pulled up. And then, at T-minus five minutes to vows ... the sky just instantly cleared up. Bright, blue sky. It was like someone had a remote control. It was unreal.

"Jess, I hope you can read this ... the sun is out!!!" I texted. I even took a photo of the sky (see left). Talk about luck.

The day was a great time. Good food, white chocolate cheesecake, tons and tons of dancing. We even did shots. And as I always do at weddings (except my own) I drank tons of champagne and got a bad headache. It's almost ceremonial.

We got home around 5:30, totally exhausted. Chris and Jess took a limo to their fancy hotel in Philly, and Jess' sisters (there are 4) were planning some sort of after party, but Ed and I just didn't feel like going, especially since Chris and Jess wouldn't be there.

Then I got a text a few hours later - "I'm married! What are you guys up to? We're starving!"

Ok. So Ed and I drove to Philly to meet the newlyweds. We had dinner at Bertuccis and got drunk in their hotel room. I think this is the first and probably only time ever that we will be able to say we hung out with a couple on their wedding night.

But it kinda figures. After we have gone through all of this crap together, it was nice to have a dinner to celebrate it all being over. Now, on to married life!
