Curry Culture and Peco Peco, Powai Kitchen Review

Yesterday, was a special Sunday for my family. It was my parent’s 21’st wedding anniversary. Therefore, we wanted to make it special. For that purpose, around 8 to 10 guests were to come. We decided on a fusion menu of Chinese and Indian Mughlai food.  There was only one thing on my mind after listening to my friend who was praising Curry Culture and Peco Peco, Powai Kitchen.  Therefore, I placed the order and got the delivery. I ordered 6 items , 3 from Peco Peco which specializes in Chinese food and 3 from Curry Culture  which specials in Indian.

I eager to give you detailed review of my experience, actually family’s experience with the food. It was a three course grand meal. So, let’s get started:

Peco Peco Chinese:

  1. Starter- Chicken Lollipop

The chicken lollipop was saucy, fried to perfection and juicy. It was also chunky and so was really appetising. I would give it 4.5/5 starts. I loved the taste but felt that color should be little lighter and taste a bit spicier.  You get 8 in a box so, it’s truly worth it!

2. Main Course Gravy- Chicken Chilly

There is nothing more to say about it than just “Yum”. It had all the spice, sauces and chicken pieces that take you to China’s best city. I would give it 5/5 stars. Color and taste was fabulous. It was good enough for 3 people, I had ordered large and 3 of those.

3. Rice- Triple Schezwan rice

The good part about this one is that for change it had all the veggies, fried egg shreds and chicken chunks. It was truly a schezwan and no joke like you get otherwise. The price is totally worth it. The gravy was good too and little tangy. I would give it 4/5 stars.

Now, let’s talk about my most favorite- Indian Moghali food!

Cultury Culture personally scores better than Peco Peco because of Moghlai food. But without drawing any comparisons between Indian and China, let’s take a look individually.

  1. Starter- Murgh Tangadi Kebab:  5/5  rating and no debating. Two fat, juicy, spicy  and grilled murg tangadis with charcoal taste. It cannot get any better than this. The color was inviting and I was bowled out!
  2. Main Course Gravy- Murgh Banjara Masala: Again this one gets 4.5/5 rating, spicy hot and color was like an Indian chicken dish should look like. The gravy was thick and had huge pieces of meat. I had ordered Kulchas which were soft and not too chewy. Although, I would’ve loved them to be much softer.
  3. Rice- Chicken Tikka Biryani: I liked this Biryani because I love spicy food. This one had a taste of cloves, cinnamon and juicy spices. It was fragrant and rice quality was great for the price. Chicken tikka was good, it could have been better. My rating would 4/5 for this one.

Overall, the meal was a hearty one and delivery was on time. I loved the service of Curry Culture and Peco Peco Kitchen, Powai, Mumbai. I would recommend it hands down.
