As I sit here in Starbucks on Sunday morning Finishing some of my course reading before I go out to watch the Packer game, I am transported back to much earlier times when I had to Finish my Homework before being allowed out to play. I’ve just had a number of flashbacks to times when I’ve raced to finish homework in order to go play hockey, go skateboard with friends, go to a movie or even a date.

It’s funny how the “homework” or “play” might change but the underlying theme never changes. Whether the homework is finishing a big project at work, changing a light fixture, cleaning out the garage or getting the kids’ lunches packed and the play is going on vacation, out for dinner or even just relaxing at home, it all comes back to the title of this blog.

I guess you never really get too old to have to finish your homework before you go play.
