Predictability .....

... is a pain in the ass. When it's not that bad.

- When Pop sold the house I told Queenie that he'd have a new one the minute Mum passed. if not sooner. DING! You know parts of the story. He had the floors all refinished WHILE we moved him AND invited the Granddaughter and family to come and stay the first weekend there so we had to scramble in the rain to move everything to the garage and basement, then he tried to demand we do all sorts of crap to move everything ... again ... in the 3 days between the floors being walkable and the Granddaughter coming. And there's a toddler. In the end I 'forced' him (against his will) to get them a hotel room so that they wouldn't have to corral a toddler through boxes and miscellaneous dangerous items in reach for 3 days. Granddaughter found out and, um, thanked me. Queenie did not ....
- When Pop signed on the house I told Queenie he'd be making her completely re-shop and arrange a different set of internet/phone/TV options, none of which he would understand or be able to handle. DING!!
Queenie has been on the phone or at his house every single day since the move either getting service started, getting problems fixed, or fixing problems caused by Pops trying to do it himself.
- Um, that stuff I'm not really talking about? Been told any number of times over the past year or two "Just be happy with what you get!". So, well, I'm just waiting for what I get. And waiting. It's actually not so bad once you dedicate yourself to it, a lot easier than trying and failing and trying again. She might be on to something. Er, um, nothing. Sorry.
- My brother and family are coming to visit the weekend of our Christmas Concert for the community choir and Queenie tried (hard) to set up dinner with them the night before. That's the only time I have to fix/correct/manage last minute issues and/or relax for a minute in the 2 weeks leading up to the concert. It's a pattern, when I need time for prep stuff Queenie needs time for socializing and sets up a competition to see which wins ..... anti-social has learned to be staunch.
