Not all the things in this country are bad.
Today, something good happened to me... due to... : "The Power Of Mechanic Labor"

As usually, this morning I went to the bakery, close to my shop, to buy bread for breakfast (not-so-fresh bread, with a substantial discount). Went to the counter, and there was one person paying. She paid with a thousand yen bill.

Everywhere you go in Japan, all is the same at shops... they say the amount, you put the money in a tray, and if there are bills, the cashier gets them and hold with a magnet. This is the point; the cashier FORGOT to take the bill as expected. I was waiting to put my money in the tray, but as the bill was still there, I didnt do it.

She said "the total is 450 yen", and kept busy packing my stuffs. As she didnt get the money from the last customer, I looked at my friend and pretended I got the 1000 yen bill from the tray. Actually, just touched it. And as the cashier didnt notice it again, I pointed to the roof, said "Look at there!" and pretended I'd get the bill. And we started laughing.

For my complete astonishment, the cashier started typing on the machine, and handed me the receipt and 550 yen of change. Thats how I got free bread, and money for the juice... :)

I wonder if the last person had paid with a 10000 yen bill, instead of 1000. Would she do this the same way?

Now I have to find another place to buy bread for the next 2 weeks or so... Because it is impossible to eat at Mister Donut everyday -P
