Soprano Janai Brugger was born in Chicago. She grabbed my attention around 2012, after she relocated to Los Angeles as a participant in the Thornton-Domingo Young Artist Program of LA Opera. More recently, I have seen Janai sing with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and LA Opera. LA Opera and the Los Angeles Philharmonic made a strategic investment in diversity and a young first class state of the arts soprano now climbing the international staircase. As best I know, the investment by LA Phil and LA Opera has been ignored without collaborative consideration to diversity or a unique talent by KUSC Classical Radio.
