The Diamonds - Voice Your Choice

The Diamonds were four guys from Toronto, Ontario who rose to stardom during the 1950s and continued into the 1960s. While Dave Sommerville was working as a sound engineer at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), he met three other guys who liked to sing just as much as he did. Dave Sommerville, Ted Kowalski, Phil Levitt and Bill Reed were the original members.

After auditioning for Cleveland DJ Bill Randle, they were introduced to Mercury Records which signed them to a recording contract. Their debut single was a cover of Why Do Fools Fall In Love, a big R&B hit for Frankie Lymon and The Teenagers. Overall they appeared on the Billboard charts a total of 16 times. But their breakout record, Little Darlin', was a cover a an R&B song by The Gladiolas and written by Maurice Williams.
