Chris Brown and two other people have been placed in custody in Paris after a woman filed a Rape Complaint, French officials reported this morning (January 22nd). The Grammy Award-winning singer is officially being held on potential charges of aggravated rape and drug infractions.

The woman who filed the accusation said she met Brown and his friends overnight January 15-16th at the club Le Crystal and later went back with the group to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Neither the club nor the hotel would comment on the case and there was no unusual activity reported outside of either site. The investigation so far has been kept under wraps, to the point that the French officials working on it were not authorized to be publicly named.

This incident is the latest in a years-long string of troubles for the “Run It” singer who was arrested at the end of a concert last year before receiving a felony battery charge involving a nightclub photographer. Brown was also charged with misdemeanor assault after being accused of striking a man outside a Washington, D.C., hotel in 2013.
