While Avicii announced his retirement from touring in 2016, he did promise to spend more time in the studio (which means he has a third album in the works, among other projects).

In a recent interview before taking the stage at Mawazine Festival in Morocco, Nile Rodgers mentioned working with Avicii on the upcoming Chic album. For those who don’t know Nile Rodgers, he collaborated with Daft Punk on their crossover smash “Get Lucky” in 2013.

Rodgers is keeping the album, titled It’s About Time modern by enlisting key collaborators from the pop and dance realms. He explained that throughout the writing process, “I don’t want the album to be just a tribute to Chic. I still continued to grow and kept writing new music. Thank God I met people like Avicii, Lady Gaga, Daft Punk and Pharrell and we all keep writing music,” he said. “I also wrote the lyrics. You know, I don’t want to live in the past but it is a nice place to visit.”
