Playing easy riffs is a great way to start playing the guitar. Here are my Top 5 Guitar Riffs for Beginners:
Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple: super classic, a key to start enjoying power chords
Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin: another classic,it is one of the easiest riffs to play but as a beginner it gives you that powerful feeling that you can actually play like a rockstar
Orion - Metallica: this one is more advanced than the other riffs I just mentioned, but still not very difficult. Awesome riff.
Come As You Are - Nirvana: not super easy, but I was playing in my first weeks of guitar lessons, so it is manageable. The real challenge is to play this riff while singing. If you can do that, you are well on your way to acquiring good coordination between singing and playing the guitar.
