End of a “Ura”

This blog has had to take a back burner to many things over the last 8 months. I have been enrolled in a Radio Broadcasting program at Humber College in Toronto and well I just finished. I am back on the I.S.H. and banging out some of the dopest tunes that your little sheltered ears have never heard. Keep the roles alive – ill stay diggin’ in the (digital) crates you keep downloading the tracks – show me some love.

Now that I am done the in class scheduled work – I hope to be back on the information superhighway giving back some of what I have taken.

This post will feature three docs i have been working on the last few months – feed back is always loved – so don’t be shy.

The first is a feature on the Toronto band Timber Timbre – the doc features mostly music and a little info about the band. – let me know

In the process i really got to learn the music – i studied it rather than just casually listening to it the pieces. – i got to write and research for this piece – digging deep into interviews and the complexity that is Timber Timbre … dont rip my heart out.

I took a road trip to Manchester, Tenn. this summer for the 10th anniversary of the Bonnaroo music festival – Well i was down there i took some tape of the road trip – anyways i made a three min documentary about the trip. check it out – and again give me some feed back and let me know what i need to do or what i did wrong.

There was a bit of a learning curve from the first feature i did but i think i banged this one out well – entertaining – tells the story and keeps you guessing.

not so much research – but making sure i got the audio well i was in the process of have the time of my life – might have been the biggest challenge of my (yet to start) radio career. – here i am again wearing my heart on my sleeve.

Lastly – this documentary is a bit of a joint effort – Natalie Riopelle and My Self worked on this bad boy. almost 13 mins of classic cool entertainment. This doc features some of the dopest cats in the Toronto Poetry Slam Scene. Lots of hard work in the studio – (hopefully) some great writing – and some tandem teamwork! much love to my girl Nat – real happy with the way this bad boy turned out.

Many interviews  – running around – editing – re-editing – writing – research – scrap this – scrap that – yadda yadda yadda. take the time and have a listen. thanks.
