While cleaning my room (it was about time to throw some old stuff away), I discovered this old Letter from Jon Nödtveidt (RIP). This reminded me of the “good” old times when Black Metal still was something new and extreme… back then, I was working for an underground magazine called Ablaze, and did a DISSECTION title story for issue 3 (if I’m not mistaken).  Sadly, I don’t have the original interview anymore as it was sent to the chief editor back then. But I remember that Jon/Metalion of Slayer magazine asked me to send him this letter (many years ago), and until now, I didn’t re-discover it. So Metalion, here it is

It’s nothing special, but it was an emotional moment for me when I opened this old letter, as many memories came back. 1994 was a good year for Black Metal (and Metal in general), also it was a fascinating time, without internet and MP3’s, but a lot of tapetrading and underground activity. I remember that I sent my articles via floppy disc by mail, or if it was urgent, by fax. High tech.
