Stage Invaders & Surprise Performances: Alternative Predictions For The Brit Awards 2018!

Source: Promo image

The Brit Awards is a chance for the industry to celebrate the biggest successes from the last year and show off some of the best artists on stage in front of millions of viewers.

Everyone has their own opinion on who they want to win each category but we know you don’t really care about our Award predictions. Instead, we’ve predicted some other events which may or may not take place during the evening’s proceedings (some more likely than others…)

Someone falls over mid-performance

Let’s face it, it’s pretty much Brit Awards tradition. It happened to Madonna when one of her dancers threw her to the ground with a tangled scarf in 2016 and it happened to one of Katy Perry’s dancing houses last year. Dave Grohl needs to be careful, he doesn’t need another broken leg! Someone on the bill who loves a good dance routine and backing dancers is Rita Ora, so our money’s on her this year.

Rag ‘n’ Bone Man sings something other than ‘Human’

This is more of an appeal than a prediction, admittedly. We get it, it’s a great song and it’s been hugely successful however we’re pretty certain we’ve all heard it roughly two million times. It would be nice to hear something different, wouldn’t it? However we’re sure the addition of the wonderfully talented Jorja Smith will add something special to the Performance no matter what.

Dua Lipa steals the show

This seemingly unstoppable pop star is nominated for a record breaking five awards this year, including British Breakthrough Act,  British Female Solo Artist and Album of the Year. We think she’s got a good chance of winning pretty much all of them and we’re certain her performance will be the best of the night. 2018 is going to be another huge year for Dua and we can’t wait to see her receive the recognition she deserves on the night. You go girl!

There’ll probably be a stage invader

The NTA’s had one last week so why leave The Brits out?! We can already sense Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson waiting in the wings for the perfect moment to upstage their other three ex-band mates, who are all up for awards. We’d even love to see Calvin Harris bring back his pineapple like it’s 2009. Hey, why not just go the whole way and bring Jedward on stage too.

Ed Sheeran doesn’t actually win anything

Okay so this is sort of an award prediction, we lied. Ed Sheeran has had an incredible year and it’s been hard to (read as: impossible – believe us, we tried) to ignore him. Despite this, the award categories he is nominated in are so strong with the likes of J Hus, Stormzy and Little Mix all competing against him, it will be tough to win. It’s alright though, he probably doesn’t have any room left on his shelves anyway. Plus, he’s performing and will inevitably shift more albums because of it so who’s the real winner, hm?

A surprise performance from Britney and Justin Timberlake

Whatever, we know this one is a little bit far fetched but we are just SO excited about JT’s upcoming new album and Britney’s UK tour that we couldn’t resist. How iconic would a duet from them be? The correct answer is a strong 11/10. Someone make it happen, please. We are literally begging.

We’re already looking forward to seeing whether any of these come true. Have any predictions of your own? Let us know below!
