After the announcement of their debut album ‘Ugly Youth’, Swedish glitter pop outfit The Magnettes have dropped a video for new single ‘So Bad’.
Delivered by three twenty somethings who grew up in Pajala, a remote town in the northern corner of Sweden, The Magnettes celebrate their origins by incorporating Meånkieli into their music — a language that was forbidden in Sweden until 1957 and is only spoken by around 50,000 people. The band also pride themselves on being outspoken feminists, marrying undertones of Britney-esque pop with begrudging punk laced with Swedish folk that makes for something, fun, punchy and just a little bit different.
