A couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of catching a show in Grand Prairie called “The Night the Music Died.” It featured the music from the last show of Buddy Holly before his fatal plane crash. The show has closed, but now the music lives on.
The non-profit Texas Family Musicals organization is selling the CD from their performance. A $25 donation gets you an original cast recording, which features Kevin Kratzke as Lubbock’s native son. Officials say the recording was made in 2007. They decided to release it once the show finally closed.
There is a catch. Only 110 CDs have been published. If you are interested, call 855-667-1221 to order. There is a $3 service charge.
