REVIEW
Heavyocity released Novo Modern Strings in 2017 and broke new ground in orchestral strings sampling. From that point on, they have released multiple Novo packs that do not require you to own Novo. Each pack works as a stand-alone instrument using the same powerful Novo engine. This is a great option to get your feet wet with this virtual instrument. The latest Novo pack is 'Synthetic Strings' and is 3rd in the series. This library is a combination of vintage analog and modern string-based synths. A total of 81 Sound Sources from 10 Synthesizers were used in the creation of this library. It contains 227 snapshot presets, 4513 samples, 6 NKIs, and is a whopping 13.6 GB uncompressed. Synthetic Strings contains 3 different instrument categories including: Traditional, Synth Designer, and Synth Loop Designer. There are 4 instruments included in the Traditional Instruments section: I Modern Synths, II Vintage Synths, III Rhythmic Synths (Straight), and IV Rhythmic Synths (Triplet). The first two instruments contain various string synths and the last two contain multi-sampled rhythmic content created with the modern and vintage synth sound sources.

The Source Browser can be accessed in the Synth Designer instrument section where you can select a sample set to be used by a channel.
The top section of the Source Browser is where you can browse, preview and load sample sets, and in the lower section you can define the key.
