The compositions of this album are dedicated for chamber ensemble. All these compositions are extremely expressive, have dramatic and passionate sound. Polyphonic structure, contrasting and colorful solos by each instrument, inventive instrumentation, sharp and dissonance harmony make an effort to whole sound of the album. These compositions are based on individual and strong melodic, harmonic and rhythmic basements and colorful and illustrative background. Each instrument has its own melody, based on different musical expressions and character. Bright and evocative brass solos, dramatic, expressive, vivacious and loud strings, soft and vivid reeds, very dynamic and constantly changing rhythmic – all these elements are heard very clearly and strongly in these compositions. Album compositions are full of contrasts and for the most of the time has very active, sharp and aggressive sound. Loud, powerful, dramatic and vibrant solos, all ensemble tutti, vivid, striking, joyful and lively melodies are suddenly changed by soft, peaceful and abstract episodes. These episodes are absolutely different from the early ones – it’s based on abstract musical pattern, short melodic and rhythmic elements, which are separated from each other and repeats many times. The two basic types of musical form and pattern are inventively combined together – abstract, silent and peaceful episodes are combined with memorable, expressive and vivacious melodies. These contrasts between absolutely different musical patterns create effective and interesting sound. But the most important element, which make the biggest effort to all the compositions sound, is modern, fascinating and marvelously arranged instrumentation. Composer masterfully combines together many different playing techniques – sudden glissando, colorful and unusual timbres, loud and powerful tremolos, arpeggios, bright and solid solos of brass or other instruments, vivacious and wild fast solos of the piano, trills and other musical expressions and playing techniques are effectively and inventively combined together with shocking, unusual and extraordinary ways of playing. By using this huge range of innovative playing techniques, composer creates fascinating, outstanding and interesting sound of these compositions.
