The Top 5 Comebacks of 2017

We often hear of those solo singers and bands who become a mainstay in a person’s psyche long after they leave your radio, who cement themselves into your hearts, yet to never be seen or heard of again. This is a list of those Music artists you thought had long been buried in the cauldrons of the past, but who have made a triumphant return with new albums this year. Some of these musicians have Released, or are soon to release new music this year. So without further ado, here is my list of the top 5 comebacks of 2017:
5. Gorillaz
The band’s co-creator James Hewlett announced the follow up to 2012’s 'Do Ya Thing' earlier this year with the single 'Hallelujah Money'. The four animated characters of 2-doc, Madoc, Noodles and Russel Hobbs officially made their comeback from a 5-year hiatus with the album  'Humanz', which was released in April 2017, along with a UK Tour. The album features appearances from Anthony Hamilton,  De la soul and Pusha T.
4. Haim
Este, Dannielle, and Alana return following their breakthrough in 2013 with 'Days are Gone' and a support slot with Taylor Swift. They returned this summer with their Sophomore album 'Something To Tell You' with Ariel Rechtshaid returning to the helm as producer. The girls released their first single 'Want You Back' in May. The girls portray a more retro pop fusion sound with this track.
3. Depeche Mode
The 80’s electro-pop act returned after a four-year absence in March with their 14th Studio Album 'Spirits’. The band released their first single from it 'Where Is The Revolution’ in February. They subsequently announced a European tour to support the album. This song continues with all the vintage style and panache of old with this political song.
2. Shania Twain
The infamous ‘Queen of Country Pop' makes her return to the music industry after a 5-year absence following the release of her single ‘Endless Love.’  She recently announced her new album 'Now' which will be released in September alongside a tour to support the album next year. Her first single from it ‘Life’s About To Get Good’ came out in June and it song showcases all the pop and feel-good factor her previous material has exhibited.
1. Lorde
The New Zealander returned with her much-anticipated second album this year following the success of 'Pure Heroine' when she was only 16. The singer released 'Melodrama' to much appraisal from stars all across the Music world. Lorde released her first single from the album, 'Green Light'. A daunting song full of angst.
