For the first time in my long-ish Formula 1 viewing, commentating and writing career, I saw a driver strip his shirt on the podium to celebrate a win. I guess, after you’ve won as many races as Lewis Hamilton has, you probably get bored of the standard routine and try something new. After years of being subject to Daniel Ricciardo’s ‘shoey‘, Formula 1 now has Hamilton’s ‘shirtey‘ to celebrate with (or bear with – your choice, totally). As for me, I would stick to the shoey!

But will the FIA ban Hamilton’s football-styled celebrations? We discuss this and more in this week’s episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast. And of course, we had earlier asked if the FIA would ban the shoey, we are glad they didn’t. But given Ricciardo’s move to Renault, it might be some time before we see the shoey on the podium.
