What do a 312B3 (1974), a F1-91 (1991) and a FXX K (2015) have in common? They are all race cars and they are participating in the Ferrari Racing Days under way at the Hockenheimring.
At the beginning, I was not particularly enthusiastic about this event; I made a judgemental mistake. Thankfully, I didn’t follow up on my judgement and went anyway. The minute I touched down at Hockenheimring, my thoughts went Whoa! It was such an electrifying atmosphere in the pits and on the track, along with the stupendous accessibility compared to other events and the professionalism of the mechanics and the quality of the cars presented.
Ferrari Racing Days 2016 at Hockenheim: One of the first car that I have seen when I arrived in the pits is the Ferrari 312B3, Niki Lauda’s racing machine. I guess, this was one of the most admired cars in Hockenheim, alongside the F1-91, a beautiful single seater, which, however, did not enjoy great success with Alain Prost and Jean Alesi at the wheel. This particular car was, in my childhood, one of the most famous with the Williams Renault and McLaren; great memories!

Rewind: Ferrari Racing Days 2016 at Hockenheim: The public was also able to admire the customers at the wheel of the most successful cars: the F2002, the record-breaking car driven by Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello, the F2003-GA, but also the F2007, which won the Drivers’ championship with Kimi Raikkonen, the 2008, which dominated the manufacturers’ championship, the F10 and, finally, the F150° Italia, single-seater on which Fernando Alonso won first place in Silverstone in 2011.
Obviously Sebastian Vettel was the star attraction during the Ferrari Racing Days 2016 with Scuderia Ferrari. The fans were thrilled to see the four-time world champion and there local hero (from Heppenheim, less than 50 km away) on Sunday when he was in action at the wheel of a F2012 with which he performed fasted laps, lightning starts and thrilling tyre changes.
Rewind: Ferrari Racing Days 2016 at Hockenheim: The eye of the public and media was also captured by the latest cars of XX Programmes, the FXX Ks which were be driven by its very special owner-test drivers. There were 21 specimens of this incredible car, with its 1050 hp hybrid. In addition to these amazing jewels there were also the other cars of the XX Programmes, with eleven 599XXs and three FXXs, the car that gave rise to this Corse Clienti initiative.
