Every time there's an open seats there are inevitably lists of drivers who could take the spot. Sometime's they're useful, and sometimes they're like this list below. This is a list based on an open seat at the venerable Manor F1 Team (see photo above):
1. Fernando Alonso
I hear this guy's popular. Forget this is a backmarker seat, Fernando Alonso drove really well at Ferrari, and I remember that. So my pick's going to have to be Alonso, he'd do great things for Manor!
2. Nico Hulkenburg
Nico Hulkenburg is the prime example of EVERYTHING that's wrong with Formula 2. Pay-Drivers, Pay-Fans, Pay-Pal, Pay-Sponsors... Wait, if we got rid of paying sponsors we wouldn't have pay drivers! There you go folks, problem solved.
3. Kimi Raikkonen
Well.. um... he already wears red so... he'd fit right in! #Kimi2Manor2017
4. Alain Prost
It's surprising most teams have looked over him, he seems like a great addition to any team.
5. Mark Webber
He's popular, right?
6. Nico Hulkenburg
Wow, can you imagine he's not the only driver at Mercedes with 27 championships right now???
7. Harayanto/Pic/Chilton/Any driver kicked from a back marker team
Well I guess this is a list for Manor so it's not that unbelievable... But still the point remains, if they didn't make it at [back-marker team], why would they make it at [team that is good in comparison to the back-marker team]?
8. My grandma
I know she might not be the right age, but she makes some killer chocolate chip cookies. She could save the team millions in concession fees
9. Nico Rosberg
He just chose to retire from the sport, but in my view, he was wrong, so it's time for him to come back.
10. Pastor Maldonado
Honestly, he's probably the 2nd best driver of our generation behind Hulkenburg. His driving is nothing less than superb, as the quote goes, if you don't go for every gap, you're no longer a racecar driver.
