Dromos Motorworks Honda CB550 Cafe Racer

A new and up coming builder hailing from our hometown of Long Island, NY is putting out some stunning builds.  Joseph of Dromos Motorworks, has an eye for design and a great attention to detail.  These traits are helping him pump out some beautiful customs and this Honda CB550 Cafe Racer is no exception.  Having seen it in person and sat on it, I can vouch for this amazing machine.

Starting with the frame, Joseph completely de-tabbed and rebuilt the tail section.  The part I like the best is that the tail section is actually fabricated right into the rear sub-frame for a seamless look.  Additionally, a half moon LED tail light is mounted in there for a clean look.To finish the look of the tail off, a one off hand crafted leather seat was made.

Moving towards the front of the bike, you’ll notice that the tank is not stock.  He decided to go with a slightly modified Honda CL350 scrambler tank that we think goes perfectly with the rest of the bike.  Continuing with the metal work, a very unique and one off headlight housing that holds the speedo along with the LED headlight.  As the owner of Old Bike Barn said it “If James Bond road a Honda, this sophisticated CB550 would be it”

With all the upgrades being done to the bike, the electrical system needed attention.  Starting from scratch, Joseph decided to use the MotoGadget M-Unit to control all the functions of the bike.  A PowerArc digital ignition system was used along with a brand new regulator/rectifier to help charge the Antigravity 4 Cell Lithium battery.  For the suspension and wheels, some nice goodies were used as well.  A new set of adjustable Hagon shocks were used to keep that classic look.  Excel Aluminum rims with Buchanan spokes wrapped in Avon Roadmaster tires help this machine tear up the pavement.

Be sure to head over to the Drmos Motorworks website and follow them on social media.  Joseph just also finished a stunning CB750 that was featured on Bikeexif and he’s got a pretty cool build in the works that you can follow on Instagram.  Being 15 mins away from, we get the pleasure of stopping in and personally seeing his builds which you will probably see in the very near future at some custom shows I bet.
