This year at the EICMA show we saw a ton of new models unveiled by all manufacturers. Ducati being one of them with several new models based off their Scrambler platform. After studying the market and seeing what riders are building, Ducati took their popular Scrambler platform and introduced the Cafe Racer. The Ducati Scrambler Cafe Racer using the awesome Scrambler platform and combines with with classic Cafe Racer styling.
The Scrambler platform already has a great base with it’s 803cc v-twin engine, overall great suspension and 17″ wheels. Ducati took this platform, replaced the handlebars with clip ons and added some other classic styling attributes. Most noticeably are the numbers plates on the side and the cafe racer style tail section. The Scrambler model was already getting modified by some builders to create a cafe racer styled bike. As a result, Ducati just made it easier for the everyday rider by using a great platform and offering different variation.
We can’t wait to see what some of the great builders out there will do with this platform. I might even get my hands on one and see what we can do with it. Ducati has been listening to the market in the past few years. Consequently, they hit the nail on the head with this one and we think it will be a big success for them.
