Don't compromise your values, standards, or principles.
No matter what may be at stake, be wary of what you do and don't do. Living the life you want means knowing what you DON'T and WON'T want to do.
It don't matter if you think that chick is hot, if she's in a relationship with someone else, then don't pursue anything more than a friendship. Even if the money is just right in front of your face, don't fall into a shady deal just to make a ton of cash. And while it is really easy to do and no one may even noticce, don't take stuff that isn't yours.
These are some of my values. In regards to each one of these, I have been with someone who was already in a relationship, I have stolen, and I have compromised things to get ahead.
All of those actions are things that had horrible consequences and/or feelings of remorse because I knew they were all choices that were hurting me; but I have made these actions into 3 things that I won't ever do again.
It doesn't matter what you've done, as long as you have bounced back, dealt with the consequences, and learned, you'll have taken several steps towards becoming the kind of Man your GOING to be.
At times, compromising yourself will seem like the most enjoyable choice, but don't forget about what kind of character you want to represent in the present; the future; to yourself; and for others to follow.
