I have them you, have them, everyone has them. There is no point in tricking you guys, the title says it all yes, I am talking about the shoes. We all have them and we all love our shoes.

You know what they say, ‘People make shoe contact before eye contact’. This is why your shoes must look good so that it can make you look good.

It’s time to share some amazing facts about our favorite fashion accessory, shoes.

Here they are:

  1. Did you know, that your shoe size may tell you that how long you might live? Yes, that is correct, a team of Swedish scientists found that those with extremely large and extremely small feet didn’t live as long as those with average size feet.

  1. NIKE’s logo was designed by a student in Portland state for $35. She was then later given stocks which are now worth more than $6,40,000.

Yes! I reacted the same.

  1. Dutch invented wooden shoes referred to as clogs are actually called clompings and were used to wade through the wet marshes as leather shoes would get wet and were ruined easily.

  1. When Neil Armstrong took the first walk on the moon, the boots he wore were discarded into outer space before coming back on earth because of the fear of contamination.

  1. In 1920, German brothers Adolf Adi Dassler and Rudolf Dassler started a shoe company. Their business blew up after the 1930s when gold medalist Olympians wore their shoes.

During world war 2, because of a miscommunication during a bomb shelter visit happened between the two and it resulted at the end of talking terms of the brothers. They eventually split off their business.

Adolf Adi Dassler named his company after himself “ADIDAS”, while Rudolf did the same and named his company “Rue De” which eventually became “PUMA”.

  1. In Japan, footwear is never worn inside the house. You take off your shoes and they wear slippers called Uwabaki.

Which, according to me, makes so much sense for so many reasons. Outside the house, you walk over many things like your neighbor’s puke when can’t handle the puke or may be dried urine of dogs, so why anyone would want to track all of that stuff all over your house.

  1. To all the NIKE lovers, the logo ‘Just Do It’ was inspired by a serial killer ‘Gary Gilmore’. Who said “Just Do It” just before he got executed by a firing squad in 1977.

  1. It was until 1818 that the right shoe was invented.

  1. The first pair of left-right shoes was invented in Philadelphia.

  1. The biggest shoes size in history goes to the tallest man in history ‘Robert Wadlow’. He was eight foot eleven inches tall and wear a size of thirty-six(36) and a half shoe.

His feet were 17 inches long.

  1. Chuck Taylors are the number one selling basketball shoes of all time.

  1. The largest shoe ever made is measured as 17 feet long and 8 feet wide. These shoes are on display in the Philipines at a shoe museum.

I know you guys are enjoying knowing these facts and you really don’t want this list to end. So, for you all, here is a BONUS FACT.

  • In China, the bride’s shoe is tossed from a roof and it must be red (the shoe must be red and not the roof). This gives the couple good luck.
