LIDL Food Academy

Sorry it’s been some time since my latest post, but I got a new job and I have been very busy. Anyway now I am back and ready to share with you a brand new post. This post is the awesome experience I had at the Lidl Food Academy. I felt I needed to share this with you as I enjoy it every time and if you are into it you have to try it!!! Read the details below!!!

Let’s get things from the start. The LIDL Food Academy is a concept created by an advertising agency and the LIDL Cyprus, where people are experiencing the whole idea of mingling and cooking. The place is amazing!!! Contemporary, minimal interior, natural light and modern kitchen equipment. The whole experience help people learn unique recipes and discover LIDL products. The concept is a big success that headquarters in Germany, are trying to expand the concept to other countries too!!!

I love cooking and I love meeting new people so that is the perfect concept for me!!! Moreover, the guys working there are the best. Each time the cuisine theme is different and this is what makes you want to come over and over again. The cooking seminars are taking place on Saturdays. THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE IS FREE!!!!

To take part, you have to sign up to the cooking seminars through the L.F.A. website. If your name is picked at the draw, they will contact you and offer you an invitation for two, for the upcoming seminar. Once you enter L.F.A. you will be given an apron and the recipes of the day. You then can have a breakfast and wait till everyone gathers up. The presentation phase comes next, where you get to meet the chef and his assistants, who will show you step by step all the recipes. After the presentation, you will be separated into teams and get a box with all the ingredients of the recipes, which are organized for you before hand. And it is where the fun begins!!!

The last event I have attended was an Indian theme. If you have read my trip to India you know how much I love Indian food. I was so happy when they informed me I was one of the lucky winners. That Saturday, me and my friend Maria entered the Academy with a big smile on our face. We’ve started checking the recipes as we were having breakfast. The menu for the day was Samosas with mango and apple chutney, Tikka Masala curry with aromatic rise and for dessert carrot kheer with ground almonds. I was getting hungry!!!

After the presentation we were separated to our teams and we started cooking. The aromas, colors and Indian music made the atmosphere in the Academy felt like India. The recipes were easy to do (with some help of the chef assistants of course) and the whole process was so much fun. Did I mentioned that wine accompanies you during cooking? COULD I ASK FOR ANYTHING BETTER? We did not manage to reach the appearance of the chef’s plates but surely they were delicious.

Moreover the academy organizes other events too!!! The first one I attended was an outdoor BBQ event where you could watch a Mundial match and enjoy as much BBQ food and beers. Near Christmas I attended a wine tasting event. LIDL has a variety of wines and at very good prices. The latest I have attended was a beer tasting with BBQ and live band. Also there was a live band and and games like beer bong, football table etc. Keep checking the L.F.A. site to get informed for the upcoming events and find very interesting recipes.

Keep checking my Instagram and Facebook stories to my next visit to the the L.F.A. Also follow me on my socials for more fashion and design posts.
