Bubble Hash is a type of cannabis concentrate made by adgitating active cannabinoid off of marijuana flower with ice cubes. The reason it is called “bubble hash” is for the way it bubbles when smoked.

For people who enjoy the old-school type of hash, bubble hash serves your needs well. This is one of the most basic ways of producing hash, and can create a lot of dark, sticky and tasty product worthy of any stoners bong.

How to make bubble hash?

Bubble hash can be made with five things.

1. Raw (fresh) or dried cannabis leaves and flowers
2. Ice cubes
3. Bubble bags (filter screens)
4. A bucket
5. A stirring device (usually a broom handle will do)

The hash making process:

First line your bucket with the bubble bags. These are color coded for different filter sizes, with one to hold the cannabis material, and the others to catch what comes off: the hash.

Secondly, add your cannabis leaves and/or buds. You can add only leaf trimmings, only manicured buds, or a mix of both. The potency of your bubble hash product will be a result of the type and potency of marijuana used in the making.

Thirdly, add the ice cubes, mixing these in with your cannabis. Just pour them on top for now. Depending on the size of your bubble hash bags and bucket, you may need to add a little bit of cold water in order to be able to stir the mix.

Now that you have your bucket set up and ice + weed in place simply stir the mix with your stirring device. For 5 gallon buckets, a simple broom handle does the job well. It can be quite fun and a good excercise churning the mix as you would butter. Be careful not to damage the bags in the process.

Some folk like to use different power tools like a drill, or even electric kitchen items to stir their mix. Although, remember totally blending the weed and ice mix into a smoothie will create small particles of leaf and and plant matter that will pass through the screen, thus creating less potent hash.

Smoking bubble hash

After you have stirred for a fair amount of time (5-20 minutes), take your bags out one-by-one and let the water drain out of them. This may take a while depending on how clogged your screens are in the bags. You should always clean your bubble bags thoroughly after each session to avoid waiting forever for bags to drain.

Now as you get to the screens below your cannabis, these will contain your bubble hash. Scrape them up with a kitchen spoon and put them on the included micro-screen you get with your bags. The hash is wet now, so it will need to dry before it’s ready to be smoked. You can take a towel and compress this micro-screen, just be careful not to let the towel directly touch the hash.
