We all have dreams, thing that we’d like to do or goals that we’d like to achieve. Reaching those goals and seeing our dreams come true isn’t always easy. All sorts of things can happen than can hinder us in our attempts, and we can get frustrated when that happens and want to give up. Quiting is always easy, though. But if it’s something you really want, you have to work for it and not quit. It’s when we’re feeling like quiting that we could use some inspiration to continue on. That inspiration can come from a variety of places, be it a quote from someone, a picture of what you want, or even a story, either real or fictional, about someone who didn’t’ give up and achieved their goal or Dream.
There are many such stories around. Sometimes they end up on the news as a “feel good” segment. Other times they end up a book or Movie, and the story can either be true or fictional. But these stories, true or not, can be truly inspiring. Take the movie A Star is Born as an example. The movie has been remade a few times, most recently in 2018 and staring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. How can this movie inspire us to never give up on our dreams?
Although some points may differ in the story throughout the various remakes, the main story is the same: a rising star who’s going through a rough patch is helped into the spotlight by a star whose light is beginning to fade. In the original 1937 movie, Janet Gaynor was an aspiring actress and Fredric March was the actor in the sunset of his career who helped her to stardom. In the new movie, Bradley Cooper is a hard-drinking country music artist who discovers and falls in love with Lady Gaga’s young singer character.
In the 2018 movie, Cooper’s character, Jackson Maine, happens to go into a drag bar where he sees Lady Gaga’s singer-songwriter character, Ally, perform. They meet up and talk, and Ally tells him about her dreams of having a career as a professional musician and the troubles she’s having making the dream come true. He invites her to his next show and, despite being hesitant at first, she goes, and he invites her to perform on stage with him. Their relationship grows after that. At another show, a record producer sees Ally perform and offers her a contract. Jackson is a bit bothered, but he supports her decision. She goes on to become a star pop artist and a Grammy award winner.
The movie can inspire us to never give up on our dreams. In the movie, we see how Ally was having trouble making her dream come true and contemplating quiting. But she didn’t quit and she kept trying, and in the end she met Jackson, who helped her along and supported her when she was finally offered a contract. We should also never quit trying because, even if you can’t do it yourself, you may find someone who can help you and support you in your endeavors so you can make your dream come true.
