A Fresh Look and Flexibility Featured in G6 Hospitality’s New Exhibit Design

Recently, G6 Hospitality (G6) asked The Trade Group to design a new, custom 20’x20’ Exhibit for a variety trade shows in the U.S. G6 wanted a fresh, clean, contemporary look and a flexible solution that makes the display easy to modify in order to showcase different G6 brands as needed.

This flexibility was essential to the design, since four unique brands fall under the G6 umbrella: Motel 6, Studio 6, Hotel 6 and EStudio 6. Including less soft seating and more semi-private meeting space, while ensuring a smooth traffic flow, were also important to G6.

Key design features of the G6 exhibit include:

Focal point: The iconic Motel 6 tower

The design features an 18-ft Tower with perimeter lighting and backlit silicone edge fabric graphics (SEG) in one corner of the space. The tower provides multiple benefits:

  • Branding and visibility. The tower itself mimics the tower featured in several G6 properties and can’t be missed on the trade show floor.
  • Flexibility. The top section of the tower with the branded sign is constructed of backlit SEG fabric graphics that can easily be swapped in and out to highlight any of the four G6 brands.
  • Storage. The tower structure includes a convenient storage room to stash valuables and supplies.

 Structure: Contemporary, open air design

To capture the modern feel and smooth flow that G6 desired, the design team created a predominately white, open space that can be accessed from all four sides. Two bridge-like ceiling features add visual interest to the exhibit.

Meeting space: Semi-private, branded and functional
To achieve a feeling of privacy, the meeting room area is partially enclosed by a ceiling feature and two Plexiglas Privacy Walls featuring large CNC-routed “6” logos, which further reinforces G6 branding. High-top tables and chairs address comfort and functional needs.

Aesthetics: Accent colors, flooring and lighting features
To align with G6 corporate branding, the design features wide, vertical strips of green and orange accent colors on the white walls positioned on opposite sides of the meeting space.

Rollable, faux-wood, vinyl flooring in the meeting area adds warmth and helps define the space. White padded carpet in the open area complements the exhibit’s contemporary design perfectly.

Along with perimeter and backlighting in the tower, several other lighting features were incorporated into the exhibit design:

  • Custom pendant lights in the meeting area.
  • LED lighting in overhead bridges.
  • LED continuous tape lighting in the top and bottom soffits of the Plexiglas privacy walls to make the large, CNC-routed “6s” pop.

A/V: Video monitors with looping content

In the past, G6 relied on traditional signage and brochures to extol the features of its different properties. The new exhibit design incorporates multiple video monitors throughout the space with looping content that highlights the latest and greatest features of the G6 properties and franchises.
