So with Fidget Spinners being all the rage, you may remember my review of the Ralix that I did back on May 31 2017 but I have since then gotten 4 more spinners to test out. I must say, even though they are basically the same design, they are not the same "toy" when it comes to their performance.
Now you are probably thinking "what do you mean performance? Dont you just flick them and spin them?" Well yeah at the very basic core of it all, that is what you do with them. However, there are a HUGE number of differences between all of them. Some spin more smoothly.
Some are better balanced (although most are pretty well calibrated and could just be the one that I got). Some are heavier and have a better spin feel when in the hand, etc.
Now color, and shape really dont play any part in their function, other than being cool or pretty. They can range anywhere from a few dollars all the way up to $150 is the most expensive one Ive see so far (right let that sink in for a second...Pet rock anyone?)
So originally Fidgets were made to help keep kiddos with ADHD or anxiety issues, maintain and focus. And there are actual case studies that do show that they help. But most see it as a trendy fad right now. As someone who deals with depression, anxiety and the like, I can tell you that there is something absolutely satisfying about them and using them.
Ive just recently learned that there are "tricks" and things that you are supposed to do with them now too. Below is a video I located on YouTube showing the different tricks done with them.
Now for a teen who is really looking to impress their friends, the above list might be completely wrong for them. But Im actually using it to help me with my nerves, not to impress my friends. Below are videos of 3 of mine.

Out of all my plastic Spinners, this happens to be my favorite. It has the best Spin time and for me just feels good in the hand. Here is what the company says about their spinner:

This one is ok. It is a bit more gritty, and doesnt spin as long or smoothly as the Ralix. It also feels a bit imbalanced. In this video it took me like 5 tries just to get it to spin and stay on my finger. Now like I said before, I dont know if it is just this one or if it is all of them from this company. But would make a good intro spinner. What is awesome about this one is that it comes with a 90 day no questions asked warrenty. Here is what the company had to say:

This is my first metal spinner and I love it. It spins nicely, and is just as quite as the SpinGuru but not as "gritty". You can really feel the difference when using this one in comparison to the plastic ones just in the weight alone. It is "attention" grabbing and you really feel it in your wrist bones when spinning and turning it from side to side. Out of the 3 listed here this is my second favorite. I dont have any other metal ones to test or compare it to so just for now its amazing.
So when purchasing one for someone. Take into consideration the spin factor, the quality of the materials, and the design. Remember, not all spinners are created equally.
