Q1.Let’s dive right in! First question: With event planning being such a growing industry, do you think lack of creativity is coming up to be a challenge in the industry? Do justify your answer. #EventellectsTalk #eventplanners
— Hubilo (@Hubiloconnect) September 20, 2018
With the increase in demand for work within a short time limit, it has been observed that the issue of creativity has been raised. Let’s check out the replies of our participants on the same.
A1. In a way yes. It is not the lack of creativity but the challenge of coming up with something new each time in order to stand out among the competition. That's the main challenge. #Eventellectstalk #Eventprofs #Eventplanners
— Himani Sheth (@HimaniSheth) September 20, 2018
With the increasing competition in the events industry it is becoming tough to find people with creative minds. Can't really say lack of creativity but it takes time to come up with unique ideas. Can't just say Boom! And there you go with this#EventellectsTalk https://t.co/4uGi4K0aHv
— Juhi Purswani (@19_juhi) September 20, 2018
https://t.co/UrUyuYbrbp you think there is a direct relationship between creativity and productivity in planning? #Eventellectstalk @CorpEventNews @themiceblog @EventMB @corbinball @rent4events #Eventplanning
— Hubilo (@Hubiloconnect) September 20, 2018
IMHO While I think do think creativity is a key tool in the planning process; to me, productivity is directly impacted by a lot of other factors too #EventellectsTalk
— Vishal Goradia (@vishal_goradia) September 20, 2018
https://t.co/kOppS3PI6R do you stay productive while maintaining a fresh and creative perspective in your work? #EventellectsTalk #Eventplanners
— Hubilo (@Hubiloconnect) September 20, 2018
It's all about balance. You need balance to maintain that enthusiasm and to remain constantly enthusiastic to come up with new ideas and execute them within your timeline. #EventellectsTalk https://t.co/e6IzgwSj02

Read a lot, research, and learn as much as you can. Out of the box ideas requires for an employee to get out the cabin box! #EventellectsTalk

I think a fresh perspective comes from a fresh mind and so does creativity. Indulging in mind gym activities and keeping updated with trends can give you a creative idea.— Manas (@manasonthemoon) September 20, 2018
Q4. What are your thoughts on burn outs while planning and executing an event? Do you think burn out is one of the major reasons why there is a lack of creativity and productivity in event planning? #EventellectsTalk #Productivity #Burnouts #EventPlanning
— Hubilo (@Hubiloconnect) September 20, 2018
Burn outs are a major problem. Event planning has been ranked one of the most stressful jobs out there. It is bound to affect productivity and I'm a way lead to lack of fresh ideas #EventellectsTalk https://t.co/Pgm4p9fheV
— Himani Sheth (@HimaniSheth) September 20, 2018
Burnout is a common complain of many people nowadays, that doesn't mean they lack creativity. It's just they need to refresh themselves, take a break and freshen up their mind from the mundane routine and tiredness. #EventellectsTalk
— Juhi Purswani (@19_juhi) September 20, 2018
I believe that this is a combination of 4:
1. Time Crunch (By the client)
2. Standardization (To conform to the mass appeal)
3. High Competition
4. Need for high project turnover
I believe it is a combination of these (and many more) that is leading to Burnouts#EventellectsTalk— Vishal Goradia (@vishal_goradia) September 20, 2018
Q5.Carrying forward our previous question, what do you do to relax and avoid burn outs? #EventellectsTalk @TSNN_Rachel @medoane @TheVenuePro @NickBorelli @GrapevineEvents @OneEventsIndia
— Hubilo (@Hubiloconnect) September 20, 2018
Hike, write, read, and roadtrip. I’m always on the go! Good conversations with friends over tea or coffee is a great way to de-stress too.
— Michael Doane (@medoane) September 20, 2018
I guess general research and self-learning helps out a lot. Besides that, I believe going into events helps out too. Attending them as an outsider is very relaxing.
Also, Vacations #EventellectsTalk— Vishal Goradia (@vishal_goradia) September 20, 2018
Travel and read! Of course dance and zumba also#EventellectsTalk
— Juhi Purswani (@19_juhi) September 20, 2018
https://t.co/6Eokszuil4 you think it is the experience that helps planners in coming up with new ideas and execution? Or is it the enthusiasm of up and coming planners who are just getting started? #EventellectsTalk
— Hubilo (@Hubiloconnect) September 20, 2018
I think it's both. Planners who are new in the industry have the enthusiasm to try, make mistakes and learn. While experienced planners think of ideas keeping in mind what works and what doesn't. That might restrict a few offbeat ideas. #EventellectsTalk
— Himani Sheth (@HimaniSheth) September 20, 2018
While enthusiasm does help (especially while coming up with new ideas) their true execution is an overwhelming task (experience helps here)
So I believe it is not up-and-coming planners taking a lead on this, it is the #eventprofs willing to try new things#EventellectsTalk— Vishal Goradia (@vishal_goradia) September 20, 2018
And the twitter chat ended with a positive note and a healthy discussion.
And that's a wrap! Thank you for all who shared their insights tonight. We'll see you in our next edition of #EventllectsTalk pic.twitter.com/aLaUso0wCQ
