Are Elves Always Androgynous?

Tags: elves tend touch

"Elves are ever unique and varied...."

It is true that compared to many other folks, particularly mankind and even orcs, we Elves are inclined to be more attuned to both sides of our being. Which is to say that from Carl Jung’s view, we’d be more in touch with our anima (for males) or animus (for females) than non-elven folks tend to be. Our males are in touch with their feminine side and our females in touch with their masculine side.
However, to say that all elves are androgynous in appearance simply is too restrictive and we elves, if anything, tend to defy most limitations and preconceptions about us. Elves are ever unique and varied so the idea that there may be extremely feminine elves or extremely masculine elves is not beyond the boundaries of conception, although we don’t really tend (and tend is a word we use often concerning our people) to be extreme about anything, although sports might be an exception.
And that is the point really. With elves there is nearly always an exception, or several, until the so-called rule is itself the exception. For we are, certainly by our own reckoning as well as that of others such as those who love to tell tales about us, an exceptional people.
