Ok, answer this Can there ever be an Indian Wedding without the color RED?

Even a school girl can answer this – Nah!!!!

It could be the entire wedding dress or jewellery or any accessory, weddings in India would be acceptably unimaginable without the color Red.

Despite red saris, red nail paints and red heels being the wardrobe / make-up staple season after season- in or outside weddings, why Red Lips is something that most women round the World steer clear of??

Red lips are not for me, It doesn’t go well with me; I am too dark, it’s for fair women and It’s too bold are a few answers.

Despite these answers, women STILL LOVE red lips.

Red lips sets up a look that is timeless, classic, iconic, elegant and sexy! It is something that has NEVER gone out of style and chances are, it NEVER will!

For such a candid color, there are far too many variations at the cosmetic counter and THAT is the real trouble for women . . . Should I go for a brick red or cherry? Will orange-red be flattering on me? Do I pick up a straight red, or will that make me too old or too clowny? Too many choices, too many questions, what should a crimson-loving lady do ? Read this and pucker up, ladies!!

There’s A Red For Every Woman.

Yes, the saying is totally true. Choosing the right red is crucial, but once you have it, Voila!

– Lighter Skin Tones: For fair women, Coral red, crimson or red with peachy undertones work best.

– Medium Skin Tones: Ladies with medium or olive skin look best in blue-based reds, plums, wines or fire engine red is ideal.

– Darker Skin Tones: The deeper the skin tone, the more colour your lips can hold. That means you have a wider selection of colours that will look great with your complexion than those with pale or olive skin. In particular, deep burgundies, blood reds, and wines.

Apply, Apply, For A Classic Reply.

Red lip pencil could be your biggest make-up blunder. You will almost never find a perfect matching lip liner. And a two-toned red lips can look really crude. For red lipsticks, use a lip liner that blends EXACTLY in your complexion. Apply Lipstick over the liner. Blot once with a tissue, and lightly dust with face powder. Apply one more coat of lipstick, and you’re set.

Nude, Neutral, Natural Make-Up.

Neutral make-up goes best with red lips. Even out your complexion by applying foundation and powder to your face. Apply taupe or beige eye shadow to your eyes. Do not use any other colours. Swipe on two to three coats of black mascara to your eyelashes. Of course, there are no set rules in World of Fashion & Beauty, so if you want a more dramatic look, don’t hesitate to try smoky eyes!

Take Care Of Your Teeth.

While red lipsticks make your teeth look whiter, make sure it doesn’t stick to your front teeth. After applying lipstick, put your finger in your mouth, purse your lips around it, then slowly pull it out to remove excess colour. Another trick is to apply a thin film of Vaseline on your teeth.

Keep In Mind The Time Of The Day.

If it’s going to be outdoors during the day, wear a softer or sheerer shade. For the evenings, play up the bolder side.

Thin Lips, Avoid Deep Reds.

Dark colors recede, so they make lips look even thinner. For thin lipped ladies, deep dark red are best avoided.

Prevent Bleeding.

Apply a little concealer around the border of your mouth.

Red lips are a symbol of prowess. They are charismatic, clever, confident, graceful and fearless. Applying red lipstick itself is empowering. Unlike most of the make-up products that either correct or camouflage things we don’t find perfect, Red lipstick is about assertion.

By dressing your lips in red, you are drawing people’s attention, especially to your mouth, and subsequently, to the words that come out of it. Now, ladies, you have one more way to get your guy to listen to you!
