It seems like I'm always a little behind the times, but I finally saw Donnie Darko. Talking to some people about it, I heard some say that they hated it the first time they saw it, but saw it a few more times and loved it. Other feelings about it were that it was really weird, really complex, and the best comment I heard was "I never thought a movie called Donnie Darko would be so fucking dark." Knowing these things about it before I saw it prepared me for the viewing experience, and since I was expecting it to be weird and complex and dark, I loved it. I still haven't figured it out yet, but I am planning on watching it again and again until I do. It hosts a great cast including Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jena Malone, Drew Barrymore, Noah Wylie, and Patrick Swayze. Definately worth checking out if you are into movies that confuse you and force you to work a little at trying to figure it out. (Wigs, I'm bringing you a copy next trip home).
