Valentin Bianchi  is an old-school Argentinian winery that was founded in the 1920’s.  It’s one of the brands you see everywhere in Buenos Aires, but rarely outside the country.

This is a different style of Argentinian malbec than you may be used to. It’s more muscular, wiry, and tannic; it’s a perfect companion for Argentine steak. The oak is powerful in this one: cinnamon, allspice, clove, nutmeg, toasted cedar rise out of the glass. Dark fruit, licorice, and burnt leather fold into a wildflower and hashish finish.

There are two processes to the analysis and segmentation of wine tourists as a potential market. The first is categorisation of the customer – dealing with the demographics so one can establish their provenance, likely age and education, and family background. The second issue is profiling – detailing their psychographic background – their values, attitudes and lifestyles. This paper will look at both issues, and aims to achieve the following:

Consideration of both the motivation and purpose of wine tourists.
Use of the data gathered to note the different perspectives engendered from wine tourism between regions and, by extension, cultures.
